“Hi, I’m Dr. Gavin Ripp. At McDowell Podiatry, our doctors treat various pathologies of the foot and ankle. Our goal is to create a conservative, economical approach to meet your needs and to get you better.

Some of the conditions that we treat are:

Pediatric and Adult Flatfoot Deformity

Parents often bring their children into our clinic concerned that their child has flat feet. Flat feet have not been shown to be disabling to people. Sure, if your child’s foot hurts, or if they can’t keep up with the other kids, that’s an indication to bring them in – but flat feet alone is not a problem.

Bunion Deformities

One thing that’s very important is that not all bunions are surgical. There are a lot of conservative options that we can do to help you treat your bunion.

Heel Pain

Heel pain encompasses both the back of your heel and the bottom of your heel.

Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

Numbness, shooting pains at night, feeling leathery – these are all symptoms consistent with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. There are more options that just taking a pill.

Nail Fungus

One of the most common things people come in and complain about is their discolored, thickened, and unsightly nails. We can treat your nails both with medicine and we also have modern technology using laser to treat this condition.

Growing up, I played a lot of sports and I have a huge passion for treating sports injuries. Fractures, tendonitis, ankle sprains, chronic ankle sprains – where you’re always rolling your ankle, or if you sprained your ankle a long time ago and it’s just not getting better, and arthritis. In this day and age, there are multiple treatments we can do to treat end stage arthritis, especially ankle arthritis, including ankle replacements.

Our office is equipped with a lot of technologies to help to get you back on your feet. We have in-office x-ray, where you don’t have to go anywhere else and we can take images here in our own office. We also have ultrasound, which is great to use and we can diagnose pathologies earlier, and it can help us monitor your healing. We have a cold laser. Cold laser has been shown to help decrease inflammation as well as help alleviate your pain. Lastly, we do our own custom orthotic dispensing here in our office.

A little about myself. I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. I have four older brothers and a younger sister. I love family, and when you come into McDowell Podiatry, we want to treat you like our own family. So thank you for choosing us for your foot and ankle needs.”
