Welcome to McDowell Orthopedics & Podiatry Group! We love seeing new patients and are so pleased that you are taking advantage of our expert care and services. Whether you are scheduling a checkup or need help with a condition or problem, our goal is to make your visit as pleasant as possible, from the moment you are greeted by our kind and caring staff, until the time you leave. We want you to leave understanding your options fully, and feeling confident in your decisions.

To ensure your first visit goes smoothly, we are happy to provide the following information to help you prepare for your appointment and know what to expect:

Time-Saving Tips

Gather medical records and family history to bring along. This will help us get to know you and your individual needs.

Make a list of your symptoms and any questions you might have, as well as any medications you are taking. You can even bring along a whole pad of paper so you can take notes if you’d like.

Pack your favorite shoes and those you wear most often. We can tell a lot by simply looking at the wear patterns of your shoes! If you use orthotics or inserts, bring those along, too.

Browse our website to get to know us better, learn about conditions we treat, and where we’re located.

Plan to talk about your lifestyle, activities, and hobbies you enjoy so we can personalize the treatment you receive with this information in mind.

Make sure you have a photo ID and insurance card handy. NOTE: Our services are covered by most insurances, but we suggest you call ahead to make sure we accept your provider.

What You Can Expect

Whether you’re a new patient or a returning one, you will always be greeted with a warm welcome and a smile! In addition, we know your time is valuable, so we will do everything we can to maximize your time with our doctors. That way, we can take as long as needed to listen to your concerns, answer your questions, thoroughly explain your diagnosis, and ensure you understand your treatment options.  We will examine your feet and ankles, use diagnostic testing if necessary, and might also ask to observe how you walk or run in order to assess your gait.

It is important to us that you to feel comfortable, confident, and happy with the care you receive here, so we are dedicated to providing not only the best foot and ankle care you can find, but also the personal attention you deserve.
