Dr. McDowell is a board certified podiatrist who specializes in surgery of the lower extremity, including neuropathy, pediatric foot problems, plantar fasciitis and trauma. He has been recently recognized for his paper on the use of the PinPointe™ laser treatment for toenail fungus, a new technology that is utilized in many podiatric practices.

Dr. McDowell earned his medical degree with honors from California College of Podiatric Medicine, and completed his residency at the California Podiatry Hospital in San Francisco. He is a member of the American Podiatry Association, California Podiatry Association and Sacramento Valley Podiatry Association. Dr. McDowell has been published in several industry journals, has taught podiatry students at area schools, and has continued his own education throughout his practicing career, which now spans over 30 years.

As a baseball player in college, Dr. McDowell had the chance to play professionally, but chose to be a doctor instead. His dedication to his profession has led to a thirst for learning that is never satisfied, always keeping himself up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques. In his spare time, Dr. McDowell enjoys traveling, golfing and spending time with his wife and family.
